How To Create An Adjustable Co-Ordinate System in Abaqus?

01/19/2018 3:30 AM

Hello all, I have created a solid shaft inside a solid shell and fixed the shell as a BC in the first step. In the second step, I have applied load on the surface of the solid shaft which generates stress. In the third step, I want to rotate the shaft with a reference point coupled to the surface of the solid shaft as a constraint. How can i create a coordinate system and reference point which updates with the position of solid shaft after it is subjected to stress in the second step ? As there is a small clearance between the pin and shell, the pin‘s rotation centre would surely move when subjected to loads. How can i achieve rotation on such an axis which varies its position after the shaft is subjected to loads ?

Well, one of the ways is to sign-up for a training course on <...Abaqus...>.

Thank you but not helpful. If you want to help, you can or leave it to people who would rather prefer to help.

Being that Abaqus is a specialized software for FEA, the point is that you may first want to seek out support from them than from a broad-based engineering forum. It may be a more efficient use of your time and ours.

Have you tried using spherical coordinates on this?
