Flippy, the hamburger cooking robot could be coming to a Caliburger restaurant near you. This specially designed burger cooking robotic system precisely cooks burger patties. The unit, which sells for between $60,000-$80,000 comes with a cloud connected artificial intelligence platform.
The system combines thermal vision, 3d and computer vision data and machine learning algorithms. The device, known as, " An automated kitchen assistant " , is manufactured by Fanuc & brought to life by Miso Robotics.
Kitchen staff are required to set a bun down, put a piece of cheese on top, wrap it up. The implications with this type of system and others to follow is that marginally educated people are going to have a hard time finding jobs that require repetitive motion.
A recent report from the Mc Kinsey global institute predicts that 400-800 million people worldwide could be displaced by automation within 15 years or less.
Are you ready for the next revolution of, " Burgers on Demand " ?
