Pressure Vessels Support Design

How to derive moment of inertia of bolts about vessel neutral axis? As per jawad & farr book they have given nar^2/2. Can anyone please explain explain the same?

It would be better to revise the phrasing the definition of:

''W = weight of the vessel''

to:

''W = Total weight of the sum of the fully loaded vessel plus any Wind, Snow, Seismic, Impact, and all other applicable, and contributing, loads, with vertical, and/or horizontal, and/or cyclic, and/or other, contributing components.''

(and that total weight may also need to be facotored upwards, in order to account for age, fatigue, chemical, etc., influences, as well)

If the axis for calculating the MOI were the longitudinal axis of the vessel (as would be suitable for certain instances), then the MOI would be NAR2, by simple definition of MOI. However, for bending of the whole assembly, the relevant axis is perpendicular to the vessel axis. The bolts are not all equidistant from this second axis. When summed, their total MOI comes to NAR2/2.

If you don't know ans please don't reply, and don't try to use such language this is not your home to reply like that, before going to ans first think. how much knowledge you have.

W = Wdesign = [ K ( P ( age+fatigue+chemical+other loads ) ) ] x [Wtank+Wcontents+W( wind+snow+seismic+impact+other weights ) ]

That was mathematical. I doubt there is a much simpler way to say it.
