This "guest" at first pissed me off with his snide remark. But I thought, you know, this CR4 site is addictive, maybe I SHOULD get a life..hehe... but hey, my spare time on this site compared to watching football, NASCAR, pro Wrestling etc., at least HERE I'm learning interesting things and sharing what I've learned.....what's wrong with that ??

Not a damn thing! Participating on this site keeps my mind sharper and does more to challenge my assumptions and force me to verify the tools I use on a daily basis than anything else I've found. Thank you all for your contributions!

Don't be hating just because you don't have what it takes to register and be one of us! Don't worry though, we are more than happy to use our super powers to make your life better regardless...

This nerd earns a lot of moolah. He has a great life even without the $$$. This nerd studies religion, science, technology and history. This nerd has a gorgeous woman in his life and beautiful children. This nerd also donates a large amount of money and time to people and causes that he feels that he might benefit as a result of his success and failures in life. This nerd is excited to be alive and tolerant of those who do not seem to share that respectful excitedness.

But what do I know, I thought I was a geek!

How crass bragging about how much money you have! How can anyone respect a braggard. Most people are realistic about life. They enjoy the good times and work through the tough times. If you really are that philanthropic it's not necessary to tell people about it. Unless of course you're looking for a pat on the back! Yes you're a NERD alright "respectful excitedness" please! I suspect your life is not as idyllic as you claim it to be!

Caught the Nerd! you are the one monkeying around. Where were you these so many months? Still do not have the guts to register with a name? Do you have a name or we keep calling you a "nerd".

OK here I am! It wasn't my intention to be anonymous. Apologies.

I took the liberty to look back at some of your more recent posts and found the following statement, "even a fool listens before criticizing". I did try to understand what was being written. As I said in my apology to the gentleman I was unfairly critical of, it was mean spirited of me. I would say though that hurling insults back in a like manner only demeans the person responding.

Sorry then it was not the original nerd who started this forum.

hurling insults back in a like manner only demeans the person responding. Yes truly agreed.

However a criticism is not necessarily intended as an insult.

That's OK I'll be going back to my technical discussions. I normally don't get drawn into these mindless back and forths. Good luck to you.

How crass bragging about how much money you have!

I said that I earn a lot of money. Not that I have a lot of money.

Most people are realistic about life.

What suggests that I am not realistic about life?

They enjoy the good times and work through the tough times.

Agreed. It also helps me, I have found, to seek out those in need to make their rough times a bit easier. It seems the most assured way for me to receive anything of real value in life is to give something of real value (it is seldom money that is of real value when people are in need)

If you really are that philanthropic it's not necessary to tell people about it. Unless of course you're looking for a pat on the back!

Yes. I am very generous with my time and my money. No. I am not looking for a pat on the back. However, I do not care to be judged by some ridiculous contributor (the original poster) simply because I participate in this forum. Rather ,I have chosen to illustrate a couple of less cyber-recognizable but perhaps more accurately defining traits upon which I might be judged. Typically humility is a fundamental principle in my life. I did not feel I was being and I certainly did not wish to be, a [sic] 'braggard'.

Yes you're a NERD alright.....

I already said I was.

"respectful excitedness" please!

Is it that difficult for you to imagine?

I suspect your life is not as idyllic as you claim it to be!

I did not claim it to be idyllic. My life is not carefree. The way that I approach my difficulties is one which allows me tremendous amounts of serenity though.

So guest. Are you just out spewing your dissatisfaction at me through the forum today? Have I offended you somehow? If so allow me to make note that you are a very good speller. Do you use the spell checker? Your grammar and usage are a bit foreign but I got your point. I mean you do seem quite bitter and directed with your reply. Surely you can take time to register, if you have not yet, and participate in the least chivalrous of ways by allowing us to get to know you by some recognizable feature. Some feature other than your grumpy, griping, nonsensical beratement of someone you will not introduce yourself to. Das ist nicht sehr gut.

Let me first say I enjoyed your response immensely. Highly entertaining indeed. No I don't use a spell checker. I'm actually English and try to use the language correctly. I'm sure I make the occassional spelling or grammatical error. Like most of us I'm far from perfect. Most of what I said was "tongue in cheek". You sound like a really nice fellow that genuinely cares about people. I typically log on to this site to discuss technical problems I'm faced with. When I saw the particular thread you contributed to I couldn't resist the dig. I really didn't mean to offend you, it was quite mean spirited of me. Please accept my humble apologies and keep on doing what you're doing. The world certainly needs as many good hearted people as it can get.

Yes we do not need monkeys like you who do not have the guts to identify themselves. I believe 100% you are a member . Come out in the open with your identity or hide behind as a babbling monkey

Stupid question time: if we are nerds who need to get a life, then what does that make you, considering the fact that you obviously have nothing else better to do with your life than to read our postings without contributing anything productive?

To CR4'ers:

A post like this is called "flame bait", and you should consider ignoring it when you see it, or Reporting it so the site moderators can remove it. "Move along, nothing to see here..."

We know that Mark, but there's nothing nicer (and more likely to upset the poster) than agreeing with him / her !!

Exactly! What we are saying is, we know, we don't care, and we are big enough to laugh at ourselves thereby humiliating the origanal poster! (if he is smart enough to understand, that is!)

Thanks, I always wanted to be brillant. Not yet, but trying. I been somewheres,

done somethings, won't talk about it. I guess we all have a dark side we don't show.

But I love learning. Almost as much as I love women! Samson was a geek.

Good luck,

James
