Common Performance Indicators of Autonomous Robots

11/28/2022 5:33 AM

Hey folks,

Could you please suggest any general performance indicator for evaluating autonomous robots like an Autonomous Wheelchair?

What I mean by "general indicator" is that you don't have to define any specific condition for measuring performances, like robot's degree of freedom, maximum speed, kind of things. Those are very direct. Those indicators can apply to any sort of system to calculate.

In opposite to that, rate of successful protective stop need to define many conditions to measure, so that it could be hard to be used as a general index.

I want to know if there is any good global index function to evaluate the performance of any autonomous robot system.

Thanks! I hope you guys understand my point.

These people would know. Make some calls.

One might suggest that the <...index function...> is pan-solar-system rather than <...global...>, though one might be tempted to include probes that have entered interstellar space in the analysis.

Keep in mind, that not only do you evaluate the performance, you need to look at implementing costs as in programing that satisfies your mass/balance

Sure you get user feedback by a series of questions like quality, ease of use, interaction, value for cost, ease of programing, company service, effectiveness, reliability, versatility, parts availability, etc., which are rated by the user 1 - 10 and take the average as accept/fail rating...

Maybe you could work more on the translation of this phrase, it makes no sense to me at all?

In opposite to that, rate of successful protective stop need to define many conditions to measure,

How about the type, kind and number of fail safety related devices built-in or incorporated?
