Staggered Implementation of Software Updates

07/19/2024 7:05 AM

Why on earth aren't software updates staggered over a period of time?

Even though where emails are disrupted through the network… not so for emails by cell phone to cell phone was still possible.

this rest of this comment is off topic…

And this is why the military still wants the phone land lines. When the cell towers become disabled say by a EMP, land lines can more easily reroute communications. Slower but effective…

A bit off topic, but strategically, the military wants the land lines to remain… because it can more readily be rerouted.

at least at one time the military wanted it.. I can’t say if that still true with the military’s ‘woke’ DEI appointed leadership.

It's totally doable to build a 'stagger' into your update routine to make sure it doesn't trip the system. Good software engineers will do this, but if the boss is not on board...

Sadly we end up with major outages to critical systems because there isn't a canary on the front end.

we need better bosses. Something with a skull and vertebrae might do.
