why is there a limit on Pm's?

12/15/2007 6:41 AM

Hi all,

I have tried to send every person I have had unforgettable dealings with here on CR4 a Christmas card in their mail box.

After 20 such sendings, it told me that I had done this operation too many times and have to wait for tomorrow!

Why?

Yours sincerely, with only 20 friends on CR4, Case491

Hi Case, & thanks.

I suspect it's to discourage spamming - but I'm sure Chris will give chapter & verse.

Hi Case & thanks.

I think Santa is using too much band width, If he was half the size you could have done 40.

Hi Steve, and others,

I had not spotted that thread so I didn't know that one. It makes it clear(er) and I think I can finish my list tomorow anyway as I don't have more than 40 to do I think.

Thank you Case. Except I don't recall any rough goings 'twixt us.

Re: why is there a thread in my mailbox?

Who's idea was it to make my personail mail box another medium for a forum thread?

Somebody answered my Christmas message with a long cc list and now every answer they give that person is also cc'd to me, thanks a lot guys. I have 10 or so pm's every day that are not even for me.

I want to be loved and I know I should not grumble but this is not what I had in mind.

Do not keep on threading in the personal mail area, it is a "no-thread" zone!

get it?

Nononononononooooooo, you don't get what I thought I meant.

I mailed every person I wanted induvidually. And I am getting each reply as well. So good so far but.....

Somebody replied to my mail with an answer and cc'd a very long list of other participants, some I have never even heard of, thinking that was clever (who mentioned a cat)

Now I am getting every frigging reply that these people send that person (who mentioned the cat) as well, as a cc, and those messages are not even for me!

Now that is what I meant, get it?

Phew

I suspect you know (or have a fairly shrewd idea, or can otherwise divine (who mentioned a cat)) the miscreant here (wa'n't me, guv, 'onest!).

Why not Name & Shame?
