Air compressor line design

With one air compressor I have to run two eqipments. One of this critical eqp need higher air volume with fluctuating load. I have to design the compressed air line in such a way so that this critical equipment always gets priority supply over the other one. Please advise how I should go about it. My anticipations are that, do I need a pressure tank reservoir connected to Air compressors or is there any special instrumentation available in the market to overcome this problem as well can save the space. Use a larger-diameter pipe to supply the critical load than the other. Since you describe this load as "fluctuating", I would certainly place a nicely-sized reservoir near it to even out the pulses. If you have some idea of your pressure and air consumption, sizing the lines is pretty straight-forward.

Put an inline relief valve (back pressure regulator) in the line that supplies the non-critical equipment. Set the relief valve for the lowest acceptable pressure for the critical equipment. For example with the relief valves set at 70 psig any pressure above that will serve both lines. If the pressure falls to 70 psig or less flow will be blocked to the non-critical equipment saving more air for the critical equipment.

It sounds as though your compressor does not supply enough air to to operate both equipments at the same time, or if big enough, then the air is not getting to the critical equipment due to pressure drop (pipeline diameter too small or blocked filters).

You need to carry out some simple tests. Does your critical equipment work OK when the other equipment is shut off. If so you could arrange for a shut-off valve in the line to close automatically when the critical equipment is operated.

Or you are back to a local receiver big enough to supply the extra air. Or put the compressor and critical equipment side by side.

I recommend to provide your air compressor with a pressure tank reservoir.

Some good ideas, I'd go with a receiver near the critical equipment and also what I call a priority valve in the line to the non critical equipment. This will shut the air off to the non critical equipment in the event of a drop in the air pressure at a predetermined pressure (whatever you choose to set it at as these are adjustable type valves).

You need to make sure that you are not exceeding the "CFM" capability of your compressor. Each piece of equipment should give you a "CFM" requirement and your compressor needs to be able to supply your demand without extra volume tanks. Without knowing exactly what kind of equipment you have it's hard to say. I would add that increasing the line size and adding a volume tank would be beneficial to the critical equipment, but it will not solve the problem of your compressor being under sized for your equipment requirements.

First how precise your want to run your equipment?

is there any damage happened if it fail?

if you want to run your equipment continuously for three shift and so on do the best

calculate your usage requirement ( how much CFM Air you require for smooth operation with both equipment )

Arrange 20 % higher capacity compressor ( 10% losses + 10% higher for safety margin)

El's so-many problem you need to face like------------ may system Miss function, may it work with single equipment only, may intermediate pulses come when it operate,you may need to install additional reserver, you may need to install flow control, required pressure reduce momentary, and so may -----

Beater to take care first rather than problem come. may it cost high but still less than what you pay afterword.

Assuming the air tools operate at approximately the same pressure, just use a Y-splitter to split the high-pressure supply line and make sure the compressor/receiver combination has more than enough capacity to handle the double load. Then you don't have to worry about priorities. If they work at two different pressures, just set your available pressure output to near the lower end of the larger-capacity tool; and again, make sure you have a large enough reservoir and replenishment rate to keep both of them running.
