joining G connection to NPT

04/03/2008 1:30 AM

hi to all,

i am facing a problem in joining a 1/2" G (female threads) connection to a tubing with NPT threads. However direct joining is not possible as NPT is a tapered thread while G has parallel threads.

Can anyone suggest the correct method of joining these two types of connections so that there is no leakage???

note that G is similar to BSPP thread.

regards,

I suggest you colud machining a switched thread, one side of the 1/2" G (male threads) the other side with the NPT (female threads);

in the process, you need note that design the space and shape, in order to tighten this switched thread when use the Spanner.

finally, you need use the sealant for 1/2" G and NPT thread.

Best regards.

Hi afifahasan

There are adapters available thru the people at this site:

http://www.anver.com/document/vacuum%20components/vacuum%20cups/Fittings/vacuum-fittings-conversions.htm

I'm sure there are many others also.

Or you can have them made if you have access to a machine shop.

The adapter required is part # 1/2x1/2F4OHG from Parker. This is a male 1/2" BSPP to 1/2" NPTF.
