CAN I CONVERT FROM PRESSURE TO FLOW?

IM RUNNING A PROJECT AND AT THE MOMENT I NEED HELP TO CONVERT FROM PRESSURE OF WATER TO FLOW OF WATER.CAN U GIVE ME THE FORMULA.

Ordinarily, pressure and flow are two distinct phenomena though they can be related, so please describe the context in which this conversion is to be made.

Yes it can be related to each other but every setup will have different values and formula.

To enable some real help you need to supply details.

You may have a tank with an orifice, A tank with an open ended pipe, a Pipe with a nozzle. a pump with a pipe with or without sprinklers, and much much more.

If you are talking about valve controlled flow the flow will be inversely proportional to the pressure whereas a pipe under gravity the flow will be proportional to the pressure.

You can have various ways of creating a Diff pressure and converting this to flow.

You need to state what kind of application it is.then we can suggest what is best.

Orifice, anubar, pitot tube and more, you can fairly look into any of these techniques...

Assuming frictionless flow

Q=3.14*D^2 / 4 * sqrt(2*P/rho)

pho = density of fluid/water

P = pressure

However for real life situation where friction comes in, the following info are need:

  • friction factor (Moody diagram)
  • Reynolds number
