For a pressure vessel it is NOT recommended to do it without respect of the codes it could be too dangerous for the people in the surroundings.

Do NOT use simplified procedures if you do not already have a good experience and have used the codes for a long time and several times.

Of course you are free to take the risk but I doubt that anybody will sustain such a dangerous approach.

Safe design of pressure vessels is not simple, and to attempt to simplify can be extremely dangerous. Improper design of pressure vessel recently caused vessel to blow apart becoming a formidable weapon. Ripped apart young girls face, flattened some very heavy machinery and damaged a solid concrete wall. Don't even think about it if you have not had extensive training, proper education, and some apprenticeship with experienced person.

If a pressure vessel has been constructed and certified to a recognised national or international code, the engineer/surveyor for the vessel's indemnity insurance company will use a simplified procedure to assess the structural integrity of the vessel, as the bulk of the concerns will have been addressed under the code.

If it hasn't been done that way, the procedure, testing methods and frequency will become more complex, and the designer's original calculations will become part of the procedure. Further, there is a possiblility of the design concept being faulty, and remedial work costing more time, money and loss of business turnover than doing it according to the code in the first place.

Seems you are from India, asking too basic a question.

For sale of pressure vessels, use Indian Boiler Regulation codes (IBR)

For sale in USA and north american countries use ASME Section VIII along with material code ASME Section II and other ASME Codes appropriate.

For sale in Europe use EN 13445 and other refered codes.

You need to have approvals as per national requirements from appropriate notified bodies (IBR for India, U certificate NBs for north America and any PED approved Notified body from Europe (or their office in India), with full drawings and Technical Construction file of the design and test reports.

Any of these procedures would not cost you less thanRs. 20L

There is simplified method.

I am not from Pressure Vessel Design group, but have good experience of various approvals and what needed for approval.

If you are serious and regular designer of pressure vessels, I can suggest you the supplier of the PED design software. The cost of software may be around Rs. 500000 to 600000. This includes designs of pressure vessels, flanges and thier connections, material selection, gasketing and bolting design.

Please let me know.
