	Dear Sir, We want to have a flow meter to measure water flow of a 200 mm distribution line, which will be used to supply portable water to town (project is under construction). Here we prefer to have a inbuilt data logger in this unit, so that flow reading can be stored and later can be downloaded to a PC. Please kindly advise us the most suitable flow meter for this application (cost of instrument has to be below US $ 3000).

	Magnetic Flow meter not essential for Potable Water Flow measuring application, ordinary Orifice plate type Flow meter suitable one,

	We can put Differential Pressure type Transmitter across Orifice plate to derive 4 to 20 mA for remote monitoring

	There are a wide range available to choose from and you would have to compare advantages and disadvantages. (electro magnetic, electro mechanical. acoustic Doppler or transit time, turbine etc) You may even have a look at the Coriolis flowmeter. (see my avatar) To find specks you could Google for Schlumberger , Ott , Kent , Enderss Hauser , Flowmetrix etc) __________________ Never do today what you can put of until tomorrow - Student motto

	Krone, Magflowmeter, with an external datalogger system should be fine
