Your request for a program rather than equipment seems to indicate that you need to calculate the position(s) of the mark for one or more volumes.

For calculating the marks for a bulk petrol tank at a filling station a spreadsheet could do it for you.

For a level tank you could calculate the area of the whetted end part x tank length.

Yes, though CR4 cannot be used to transfer files. The one here is used to convert level into volume for a domestic heating oil storage tank.

It's easy enough to work it out from first principles, using the mathematical formulae in oh, say, Kempe's Engineers' Yearbook (other books are available), any edition.

Note: with some of those calculators you have to be careful with the heads on cylindrical tanks - some only allow for flat heads on horizontal cylindrical tanks.

This program may be of some use to you:

Just curious - exactly what style tank do you have? Rectangular, Cylindrical (horizontal/vertical) what style heads?

Tank manufacturers have charts based on tank diameter, and length. Try contacting one. I used to have two charts for the two underground fuel tanks we had here.

We would just go to the local tavern and find plenty of dipsticks sitting around idly drinking...ooops off topic. milo
