I tried using my imagination, but I couldn't figure out what it has to do with naked ladies.

Quite!

I can understand the usefulness only if a trackhoe is needed on upper floors of buildings or buttes which are otherwise inaccessible. Otherwise, it looks like an expensive way to show the strength of that manufacturer's trackhoe's hydraulics!

I don't know which is more amazing - that they did it, or that people are standing under it.

The most amazing thing is that the outside cable has not snapped and cut someone in half.

Oh well, I guess we'll just have to wait until it has weakened a bit with corrosion.

Re: Well designed machine

off topic, but it reminds me when I was working in the ship yard, we had what that call a giraffe. simular to a crane but on tires. You'll know where I'm going with this

3rd shift parked it about 300 yards from the docks and we has a slight grade to the docks.

about 2 weeks when by, foreman said to get the giraffe......no where to be found... too big to go down the streets..... easyliy be notice if someone loading it on a barge.

one of the fitters looked over the docks and notice an oil slick. guess someone forgot to put the parking brake on.

looking back, why do I see the humor in that......even at the time.

In any case this is quite something!

The tower is well designed, the machine's hydraulics is good (able to support its own weight) nd last but not least the operator has good skills.

Is this is how they tests the candidates for the job before they can even have a chance, it must be pretty tough there.

Nice post, It is truly awesome the strength a track hoe excavator has. I watched a guy climb the steep face of a cliff with a large excavator on a road project one day and we all swore he wouldn't make it. He literally pushed the machine up the hill with the hoe. When he finally did get there he commenced to hammering the rock apart and digging his way down the grade. He must have been at least 100-150 feet up in the air at the top of the cliff.

That's pretty awesome.

I was checking youtube to see if there was a flick for it and found this - which is also pretty awesome - they'll probably all be trackhoe stunt dudes someday ....
