DP Gas Flowmeter

03/30/2009 9:08 AM

i have dp type gas flow meter i use 1151 dp transmitter which calibration range is 760mmwc.

actually my gas passes through 3.8 kg/cm2 at 33 deg. c. but reading in dp transmitter shows -0.4%. i check manifold and isolation valve also it is ok.

theoroticaly if we calculate for our gas consumption base it will appx. 292 mmwc. can you any body says why dp transmitter not shows reading.

i check dp transmitter also it is working perfecly if i isolate and give pressure for calibration range

thanks

hitesh

Is it installed the right way round?

Ditto to PW, seems like it might be hooked up backwards.

Could you check them again? I once had a similar problem and I asked one of my technicians to check the manifold valves. He declared them as okay. Still the problem existed.

Later I learned that he had only checked if they were open or closed. During the next shutdown, I led another technician to pull out the manifold and inspect it.

The equalizing valve was broken. It was allowing the pressure in both ports to equalize (more or less).

And just to give me peace of mind:

regards,

Vulcan
