big bang energy

05/11/2009 10:06 PM

If energy cannot be created nor destroyed, then where did the energy come from that caused the big bang? The explanation that it was "just there" is no less an idealogy than christianity. I am interested in a scientific explanation. wouldn't the energy have had to been created somewhere, somehow, in order for it to exist? Can someone please enlighten me.

It doesn't matter.

Get it? Energy? Matter? Creation? Destruction?

It's a joke, OK?

You have no sense of humor.

Maybe you should get a job.

The energy or matter exist in the continuum.

It has been in fact covered aquite a few times in the NGC and Discovery channels- In the beginning, there was no mass or energy or nothing,

Space and time didn't exist.

And then there was light Big bang.

In fact the size of the Universe it self is the expansion of the prooducts of it, and outside its limits again these do not exist.

Who knows, the matter being sucked in by black holes (inside it too there is no space time continuum) - are bein expelled as Bigbang in another universe?

Disappointment is the first step on the road to enlightenment.

Recognise the 4 Noble Truths.

Stand at the edge of the Abyss. Be afraid, be very, very afraid.

Look inward.

"If energy cannot be created nor destroyed"

In everyday life it may be expected from one to destroy energy.

For example at the overflow or outlet of water works or in the design of body parts of a car to get rid of the energy.

It is true that some insignificant heat energy may be produced but that is also lost quickly to the environment.

Should we then not rename Global Warming to Global Energy Destruction?

One of the things the brainiacs are toying with is that all the energy in the universe plus all the gravity in the universe, equals zero........

'Jorrie' is a good bet for a sensible answer on this one.

"If all other explanations fails, bypass the Bible and create a new theory" … isn't that what we always do?

On average there is nothing.
If a big bang and a big antibang happened together there is no actual energy or any actual problem of creation...
This isn't as daft as it sounds...in space particles and their anti-particles can spontaneously pop into existence and then anhilate eachother later when they meet up for coffee.

Hmmm but I s'pose in space no once can hear the 'pop' .

in space no once can hear the 'pop'

That means there is no pop.

There is some philosophy like if there is a barking dog in a forest and there is no body to hear than he is not barking.

Or if a tree falls in a forest and no one heard, then it fell soundlessly

hence the matter and antimatter do not annhiliate- since no one saw them doing it. Only when they join the coffee party with the Cat, and PWS (his kettle is always on ) then they fight it out (like the kids - even when they break each others head with parents out, you wouldn't know, But when you are in, let one pinch the other, and the neighbours will be aware) QED.

During Bigbang, there was no one to see so there was no bigbang.

And who knows there are other non violent theories too.

are we moving OT?

Dear SB and Del, My 9th grade science regents had that existential question, which after all warnings from our science teacher, I marked wrongly, on purpose. I got a 98, the highest mark in the state. If I had followed the thinking at the time, I would have maxed the test. Perversity I guess. (That's why you get wierd answers from me)

Del; That dog that didn't bark is gonna bite you in the a$$!

"if a tree falls in a forest and no one heard, then it fell soundlessly"

Any movement, no matter how subtle, will create vibrations in the atmosphere. Ergo - sound. So yes there is sound even if no one is there to hear it.

Just because you do not see or hear something, by chance or choice, does not negate it's existence.
