Luna Lift

03/29/2010 8:08 AM

Dr. Michiu Kako, an American Quantum Physicist believed that someday we may be able to build a Lift linking Earth and Moon, thus making our journey to and from the moon an easy and economic affair.

How viable and possible do you think this concept is ?

Yes, Dr. Michio Kaku of The String Theory fame.

Do you agree with him ? Don't you think it will be great if we can simply visit the Moon, as if visiting our Penthouse ?

I prefer the big straw design. They can put the freight in capsules and suck it into space.

Think about how the moon orbits and then think about how you will connect it to a planet that rotates every 24 hours.

Are all scientists getting this sloppy on the common sense issues now?

The scientists are likely not this sloppy. More often its the long chain of small misunderstandings that convert a plausible idea into the absurd.

Someone just mention a long chain?

Where has your sense of imagination gone? Shame, shame, shame!

Here is a simple solution that will conveyor people and objects to the Moon:

A simple serpentine belt is all you need. You can get it at Auto Zone.

Just attach ski lift chairs and presto! As a side benefit it puts a whole new face on the Moon, too.

I can't wait for all the good answers on this one!

I can see it now. We'll mine all the precious metals up there and send them back to earth. To counter balance the weight of the ore, we can send spent nuclear reactor fuel up the conveyor and bury it in the holes we just dug.

More like a Loony lift.

I was actually thinking of sending our debt up there as a counterbalance, but there probably is not that much ore up on the Moon.

I love it! It's boring to see the same side of the moon all the time; let's flip that sucker around.
