That garage is almost as tidy as mine.
Do you actually catch fish with it?

What do you catch in a garage? I know you use a kennel to catch dogfish!

I would have built the boat almost square, eg the hulls as wide apart as the boat is long.... otherwise a big fish, running to the side will tip it up.....

Also, do you have the prop protected against cutting or ingestion of the fishing line?

Andy, I went our yesterday and the first time I tried it I caught a 18 inch long pickerel. I didn't even see the boat move a bit.As for the fish Flipping it over,I dont think it could, because it weights about 25 pounds. Sure was funny to catch one that way.I have to get use to trolling or just fishing with it,because you can feel or see the line.

But it is alot of fun.

Amazing, but as long as it is both selfrighting and waterproof you're OK!! 25 LBs is a lot!!

By the way:-

A German wish to a fisherman to help him catch more/better fish....:-

"Petri Heil".

The answer is:-

"Petri Dank".

Maybe "Petri Heil" is a good name for your boat!! At least it will generate some comments!!!

A German/English dictionary loosely interpreted it as "Tight Lines!", which is probably about right in terms of meaning.....

Nice kit. If that rod's for show, cool, but if a fish takes a bait on it your boat will be gone in 60 seconds to the depths. Here most of the guys use a deep-V mono-hull with the batteries as keel ballast. The deep-V has proven to be far more stable in choppy waters. The boat is designed to be self righting should it be rolled over by a wave. That happens often when you have a new pilot on the radio in choppy water. Cat hulls are never self righting unless you build the deck very high, but then the wind blows the boat all over the place. I guess your boat should be quite stable with that heavy motor hung underneath it. It should get some speed out of that big motor if the prop is right.

A couple of Buckets are mounted on the stern that carry the baited hooks to a drop-site that has been seeded. They are released by the servos. The buckets are shaped so that if the line snags the bait will slide out without hampering the boat. On open waters we use another rod that tied to the boats forward keel to reel the boat in once the drop has been made. As you tension the recovery line it cuts the power to the motor via a spring-loaded micro-switch on the eye the line is tied to. If the line breaks the motor comes back to life and you can use the radio to guide it home.

Have fun, please let us know how your sea trials go.
