That is pretty interesting... makes me feel old.

I searched the site for, but could not find, a solar powered rule mentioned by another user. Do you know where to see or get one?

Wow! I went to the slide rule site. I have a K&E log log duplex decitrig in it's original leather case that I bought back in 1955 when I started college. I think the price back then was less than $30, but today they sell for $165 to $195. I haven't used it for quite some time now. I also have a K&E polar planimeter in a case in perfect condition. I wonder how much that's worth. I used it at work to calculate tank volume.

Help, I'm trapped inside this box and can't get out.

Please call my wife and have her re-boot me.

Solar powered slide rules.

Thanks for this!

I was first taught to use the slide ruleby my uncle when I was in 6th grade because I had "issues" with Multiplication tables. I went from worst to first in math for two grading periods until they banned the use of slide rules in elementary school...

Cool site,

That's too bad about LynLynch , ehhh? Milo

If you search for "slice rule emulators" on Google, you will find some computer-based slide rules. One such site:

http://www.taswegian.com/TwoHeaded/UniVirtual/UniVirtual.html

This one is easy on the eyes- some of us old fogeys have a bit of trouble seeing the scales these days...

There is also Derek's place, if you want to chose and pick which model of slide rule you prefer:

http://www.antiquark.com/sliderule/sim/

A downloadable app that gives you a slide rule you can use on your computer can be found at:

http://solo.dc3.com/VirtRule.html

I believe the package includes all of the slide rules on Derek's page...
