This has been hilarious, may I suggest Tar, its easy to get all over everything, and hard to get off, unless your wearing nice cloths and are within 10 feet of it.

The other option is to remove the caps and paint some caps back on.

I've actually gone out to the store _{(I do work)} and spent $6.99USD on some black stuff.

I forget the name, but when I separate it from the beer bottles I'll report the results.

Black stuff... Thats impressively nebulus, becareful dont spray the bed with beer and drink it.

Well, there's the final result. I'll probably put another coat on tomorrow.

Including masking it took about a half hour. The end result is much smoother than the left side of the ↑ picture looks. That was after just one wipe. I went over it three times before I let it dry and buffed it.

I am trully impressed, I didnt know you could do that with snake oil and tar. does this stuff soak in like a stain or layerup like a paint?

Final Report on the black stuff. No pictures this time. The black stuff is plain liquid dye.

I applied a second coat this morning to the bed rails and a first coat to the rear window surround.

All in all, I'm satisfied with the outcome, but close inspection reveals some minor streaking. I don't think I can capture the streaks with a camera. This may disappear when I apply ArmorAll _{(Not a product endorsement)} later. I'll send a picture if the AA makes it look spectacular.

So for about $15.00USD I have returned these parts to their factory shade, mostly.
