Destruction of Evidence?

01/19/2011 12:55 AM

A very recent thread by some "chemical lab" on "black money cleaning" (and a plethora of related terms) was just obliterated. This is probably a good thing, but it could be argued another way as well.

I slammed the OP really hard, LynLynch issued him a fake order, and I suggested that some of this fraudster's countrymen might get on his case locally. To draw attention to it, I 5-starred it.

I hope that before destroying the thread, the Admins took steps to preserve the evidence and pass it along to the relevant authorities. But I don't know, which is why I am asking.

Just because someone posts something on CR4 doesn't make evidence. It might be complete fabrication, like those funny posts on perpetual motion and free energy machines.

It might not be evidence of anything scientifically useful, but it might be evidence of fraudulent activity. This might be hard to discern now because of the rapid disappearnce of the original thread.

It's our policy to remove discussions about illegal activity from the live CR4 site. Just because the members (you) can't see it, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist somewhere else.

That being said, I wouldn't recommend engaging in illegal activity, even with good intentions. It's probably not a good idea to get involved. If these types of conversations don't get a response hopefully the scammers will take their "business" elsewhere.

I'm sorry, but that didn't answer my question at all.

Your question: I hope that before destroying the thread, the Admins took steps to preserve the evidence and pass it along to the relevant authorities. But I don't know, which is why I am asking.

My answer: Just because the members (you) can't see it, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist somewhere else.

To clarify: All posts are archived regardless of whether they appear to be deleted from the website.
