I have a nokia 6300 cellphone. I has never given me any hassles in the 18 monts I have been using it. Untill now.
On February 8 2011 at 00:00:50 I got an sms (text message) on my phone that did not want to download and made my phone bomb out. I switch it on and every time after start up the little envelope would spin around the screen would start to flicker and it will go black and swich off. I phoned my service provider and they said I needed a software upgrade. I asked them if they could not just delete the text message that is causing the problem but they said they could not. Then I got the bright idea to take my sim card out and put it into my 3G ADSL dongle. I can recieve text messages on my computer. It worked. The stubborn sms came through. It was from ABSA Bank telling me that I logged on to my internet banking.... On Feb 8 2009!!!! Here is the ecxact message:
ABSA: Internet Bevestiging van aanteken: Rekeningnommer wat eindig op ****. Datum: 2009-08-02 Tyd: 00:00:50 Hulplyn: 08600 08600 Int. no.+2711 276 7900
I was worried. I checked my account and it said that the last time I logged on was the previous day. Not the 8th. I phoned the bank they said it is impossible. Yet the sender number is correct from their server. The cellphone company said it is impossible because a text message is only stored for 7 days. This was 2 years ago!!
But yet. Here it is, in my inbox. I did not even had either the same cellphone nor this computer two years ago. So the possibility of this sms comming from my own system is ruled out.
Can any one that is fammiliar with this technology come up with a reasonable explination of how this happened, and why did the sms make my phone sick. After I inserted the sim card back into my phone the problem was completely solved...
WT...?
Why is it still not possible to put immages on when using Mac OS?
