Refresh My Knowledge - Wiring Diagram

05/17/2011 8:50 AM

Dear folks,

was looking for a Wiring diagram for a 3/4 HP, 3 phase exhaust fan on American Roof.

Timer is delay start. This wiring diagram has to incorporate an Electromagnetic Timer by TORK or equivalent.

Also I still find that I have to register again to answer a question. Please correct me. I appreciate the picture sent to me but it also requires to register again on my own question. I just wanted to clarify a counter question-- answer that question to get the wiring diagram.

Please help quickly.

Thanks

Why start a new thread when this one's Wiring Diagram of an Exhaust Fan still working? Just answer the questions there.

If there has been little to no response to the original posting, it may be that no reader is able to help. Re-posting won't change that.

In your control circuit, assuming the timer is an octal socket relay:

L1 of supply to Off-On switch; other terminal of switch to terminal 7 on socket, and jumper to terminal 8 (common).
Terminal 6 (NOTC) to motor starter coil; other terminal of coil may already be wired to overload relay; other terminal of overload to terminal 2 on socket, and then on to L2 of supply.

There may be variations from this, but it is a very common setup. The relay coil and motor starter coil voltage must match the supply voltage.

But why does there need to be a delay on start?

But why does there need to be a delay on start?

maybe the oil should be pumped to all mechanical moving parts before it starts rotating

Here is a link to a Tork timer wiring layout.

The reason for the timer is likely to cycle the exhaust fan at different times of the day.
