Simulink C5505 ECG

05/30/2011 1:46 AM

hi,

I have C5505 EVM, and I am doing ECG implementation on it. So far I have successfully got the results of ECGs. Now I am trying to interface the Kit with the Matlab/Simulink. i achieved signals Simulink using Instrument Toolbox in simulink but the output is all noisy. i also have to differentiate between ecg leads signals for further analysis. Please if anyone can advice me on this...

Talha.

Just make sure your EKG doesn't go all haywire from consumption of any MethLab products....

I apologize for being cavalier, but the unexplained acronyms and jargon in the OP left little choice.

ok ok...i explain to you...

i have C5505 DSP kit from Texas Instruments. I have achieved the ECG on it through C codes. Now i am trying to view the signals on Matlab or Simulink for further analysis and tests. i am now interfaced with the Simulink. But i am not getting the desired results...

So i am open to any suggestions...

ok ok so i am bad at acronyms...

its EVM= Evaluation Module( its a DSP kit from Texas Instruments.)

ECG = Electrocardiography

Now as you can see now i have to interface the EVM with Simulink.... Now ECG has 9 channels so i have recognise each one of them...

The answer is simple - contact the Simulink vendor and/or Texas Instruments! That is what they are there for.

hi,

yes you are right... i fact i have contacted both of them but the nothing has worked out for me so far. i am looking for help in serial communication in simulink cause my DSP is connected through RS232 port...

As for the request or requirement... I am redefining my problem...

So here it goes...

I got the good signals of ECG, on my PC with the PC application supplied by the TI. Now how can i interface the kit with the Matlab/Simulink??? I have tried different toolboxes of simulink but in vain. Also i tried to use Instrument Toolbox's Serial Recieve but every thing jumbled up or whenever i see the output on scope they are all having high amplitude... In a word i don't know how to interface the kit or recieve the serial data on simulink....

Please advice me on this...

So after rethinking, i am stating my problem again...

So here it goes...

I got the good results of ECG on my PC with the help of PC application as supplied by the TI. Now as to interface the kit with Matlab/Simulink through serial port, i am facing problem. In plain text, i dont know how to do it. i have tried the Instrument Toolbox's Serial Receive block but in vain. When ever i see the output in scope its not the desired value. So i am stuck here badly...

Please advice...

Hi talhak,

There is a lot of mainstream engineering advice here. However, there may not be many who use the specific combination of tools you are using.

I would try to find a forum specifically for Matlab/Simulink.

I found a few:

http://www.matlabtutorials.com/mathforum/index.php

http://www.eng-tips.com/threadminder.cfm?pid=576

http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/
