The incorrect way to write lb? See NIST SP811 for note about not using plural unit symbols.

If you're lucky. That number can actually hit 20.

I tell every wife the same thing. If you don't want to have sex with me.............just say it. You don't have to eat everything in sight and make yourself unattractive to keep me away from you.

Funny how this wasn't taught in school, even as trivia.

Mind you I was very relieved when Oz went to the metric system because I couldn't get my head around all the avoirdupois multiplying units.

Just be glad you didn't have to convert stone·fathom per fortnight into hogsheads2. I always have to look up the conversion multiplier ( 3∏ x 13-54)

Never mind the others. lbs is an abbreviation used in Analog / Digital conversion as a shorthand of the conversion's linear range: Last Bit's Significance. Because it is or it is not! If not, another bit needs to be selected as the last significant bit. That's all.

You can take this to the bank.

Do you really think anyone who posts "what is lbs?" even knows what analog/digital conversion is? The OP is all caps and is posted in the automotive section.

I say no! And you can take that to the bank.

For "LSB", the extension pages in Acronym Finder give some combinations of last/least/lowest significant bit/byte, but nothing similar for "LBS". Regardless of all the other items, by far the most common meaning of "lbs" is pounds; which, as TVP45 notes, should be just "lb".

No wonder he is "a nonny mouse" I wouldn't put my name to a question like that.
