Unless there is a lot of rebar reinforcing the wall, or some other conductive material in the wall that would be a reflector, the answer is: yes, of course -- but it's a matter of attenuation. All electromagnetic waves will pass through a non-conductive material, but the strength of the signal that gets through will depend on the attenuation properties of the material. (Light will pass through a black glassy material like obsidian if you make the obsidian thin enough; look up "Beer's Law".)

According to the chart in this weblink the attenuation of a cinder block wall is 4dB, which will reduce the signal strength by more than half. (The 4dB value is not obvious, but if you look in the right hand column of the chart you'll see it.) Depending on other factors, such as distance, the signal may or may not be strong enough to work.

Any doors or windows?

My walls are 13 cm. I just went outside going through two levels with the metal storm shutters installed with no problems. Approx 25 Ft.

One of my neighbors, also has a concrete house,.and I get his signal. Don't know which one but the closest house is 200 yds.

I have a WiFi in the first floor of concrete structure. It works fine going through reinforced concrete floor, 15 cm thick, to my ground floor with any problem.

Please correct to read "with any problem" as "without any problem".

WiFi not secured by user name and password?

How do you avoid unauthorized down loads?

I live in a small comunity where I know and trust my neighbours. It is mutual, I trust them not to use my system, they trust me not to use theirs. It works

It sounds not a very secure connection. If your neighbors can sign in in the same system, anybody from across the street can do it. If this is a good WiFi connection it will travel far for anyone to connect to it??? I would not trust anybody, not even my neighbor. What if someone else not known to you gets on their system?

Just because his system "displays" the networks does not mean he can access them. Some may be secured or not. Your choice when you set up the system.

Oh Really????? When you open a WiFi connection, don't they give a warning saying that anyone in the WiFi connection can see your connection and your stuff???

Your WiFi needs your pass code to connect. Don't you have to give this same code to the other person in order for him/her to connect?

What I was saying is that if someone besides your neighbor get hold of your pass code, how do know he will keep it secret?

If it was me I would protect myself at any cost.

Thanks

I am staying in an independent house and receiving Mine + 11 connections; though weak but workable

Bricks, the red ones, I believe have iron in them which gives them the red color are sometimes hard to get a signal through.

One of our certified techs ran into that exact problem installing a system in a red brick house. He succeeded by moving the eguipment so the signal didn't pass through the brick walls
