Need a Large Diameter Radial Bearing

10/07/2011 11:17 PM

Needle roller type bearing required for radial loading.

Shaft diameter for inner race is approximately 2000mm. Does anyone make such a bearing?

There are hundreds of manufacturers of bearings in the world. A bearing that size will probably be a special order; doesn't sound like an off-the-shelf item. Type in "bearings" in the CR4 engineering web.

A question. WHY do you need a manufactured bearing? Large obiects, like multi 10 meter diameter and multi 10 tons heavy domes for large optical telescopes do it differently. They float the dome with a thin layer of oil over the stationary part. It results in smooth vibration free, low power movement.

Some variation of it might be worth exploring. Side benefit: no special order.

So the question is WHY is it needed, and what are its MUST HAVE parameters?

Better load bearing will be assured byOil film as stated by leveles

And no paralysis caused by failure of any roller/race

Maybe the rpm exceeds that of a tracking telescope

Please send me a complete description, specification and sketch drawings, also loads and rpm, working temperature, working environment, dusty or clean and other working conditions.

We have large machine manufacturing experience for heavy machine and hydraulic power plant.

Need to know also the urgency and where will be installed.

can also consider Rotek (division of ThyssenKrupp and Rothe Erde) for North American made - large diameter bearings
