Flex ray and other standard ...

10/11/2011 3:20 AM

As we know flex Ray is a serial deterministic fault torrent field bus system for automobile application.

it works on serial data rate 1Mbps and GSM works 14kbps.

my question why we can not use Flex ray in place of GSM?

this is silly question i know but i m confuse some how please clear the things which u think i am legging..rigorously i am waiting your answers.

thanks

If these are data communication protocols, data transfer rate is not the only thing that could be different.

Maybe you need to rephrase your question and take a little more time on translation.

You cannot replace GSM with FlexRay because they are entirely different things. FlexRay is an automotive communications protocol, and GSM is a set of technologies for cellular telephone systems.

Over what sort of distances would you expect flexray to be effective?

Over what sort of distances do you need GSM to work?

Interesting question. Did you intend to compare FlexRay to something other than GSM?

To place a call with FlexRay, one would find a car, ask the intended recipient of the call (perhaps by using a conventional cell phone) to find the same car, then both would plug into that car (via a future external network access port -- ENAP) to communicate. Presumably every car would have perhaps 6 - 10 ENAPs, so clusters of people could stand around a car, talking through the car's network. Everyone would hear every conversation... sort of like being is a noisy bar, but worse.

FlexRay has a pretty robust error checking routine, but cannot guarantee error free communication. When talking through the air, one just says "Huh? Why does everyone mumble?" enough times, and eventually the message gets through. Which makes me think...

Would it be easier to simply talk directly through the air? If there were a strong desire to make things complicated, then perhaps tin cans and strings could be used? If cars must be involved for some reason, perhaps each car could be equipped with a string dispenser?

Is this a ploy by Turtle Wax to get more fingerprints and spit on cars, to sell more car wax?

I wonder if we should use BlueRay instead of FlexRay. Then someone who is long-winded could record a 1/2 hour (or much longer) diatribe (e.g., Why do you never call? Your older brother calls all the time... ") to disc. Delivery time (the disc would be thrown like a Frisbee) could be a fraction of a second, if the individuals are at opposite ends of a car. As much as 128 GB could be transferred by this method in about .1 second with a skilled throw and catch: That's 1280 GB per second, or 10240 Gbps.
