Electricity can be produced without using a magnet but it cannot be released without creating a magnet. Electricity does not even need people to be produced.

In dry weather, you can also put on a pair of soft fluffy socks and shuffle across some carpet to generate electricity.

Photovoltaic?

Static?

Piezo?

Hall effect generators? ....

In lay-man's terms yes but actually no.

I don't think there are any magnets in an alternator.

Well your correct that there are no permanent magnets, but regulating an alternator only works by modulating the current in the electromagnet.

Yes, certainly you've seen a battery (chemical) or a capacitor (electrostatic); but if your question is "...can electricity (flow) without (producing) a magnetic (field)..." then the answer is no it can't.

Nar - come on guys a basic method of producing electricity is a chemical reaction.

Such as as 'saltwater cell', 'fuel cell', and 'thermopile' are magnet free.

Voltaire's method was/is also.

Hallo Dilip.

There is a separate email system right here, for matter not exactly fit for general discussion, like business matters, etc. I sent you one concerning Santiniketan's history. Please look into your Profile by clicking onto your own name at any message.

Thanks.

It looks to me like KISS fits better with #5.

Well, not quite. My K.I.S.S. is the well known expression in technical circles: Keep It Simple Stupid! And that simply mean, keep the use of anything simple enough, for normal people to get it right.

While I am not willing to knock your choice.
