If the glove doesn't fit then you must acquit....Ooops, wrong forum.

Basically the easiest path is when all of your parameters are a match, although you could use a motor that has a higher kw rating if it fits mechanically. If it doesn't fit mechanically then you will need to modify the mounting arrangement, coupling system, etc. If it isn't a match electrically then you may have to rewire to the new voltage/current rating. Things you can't change include the rpm/frequency, lower kW rating (unless the current motor is over-sized), number of phases (unless both single and three phase are both nearby), etc.

A lot of this has to do with the load that the present motor is handling; i.e., if it's a pump or blower and you don't really care if the fluid volume is changed then no problem, if it's a piece of machinery that requires precise speed or motion control then good luck.

You can change any of those if you have the authority - Just prepare yourselves to be called a stupid so-and-so.

I guess AP wanted specifically any other things?

I think what you have mentioned pretty well sums it up. Unless you have specific thing in mind (eg VFD drive then you must ask for the compatibility)

Just quote the precise reference of the frame along with the RPM and electrical details to your supplier.
