CHEAKS IN A DG SET

Sir,

What are the cheaks ( e.g. A,B,C & D checks ) in a DG Set.

Please define.

DG usually means diesel generator.

The word 'cheak' does not exist in English.

If the forum could understand what the word "cheaks" means, then some more help might be forthcoming:

  • Is the User Manual for the equipment to hand?
  • If not, then what is the manufacturer's telephone number?
  • Etc.

It is clearly degined by the DG Set Manufacturer as to what are these Checks and at what intervals they have to be undertaken. Hve you lost the manual?

I think, "A" check is daily check, "B" Check to be undertaken after 250 hours of Engine Running, "C" Check after 1000 Hours and "D" Check after 2500 Hours. But, pl. do consult your set manual.

I think PW coined this the other day. CTFM. It should become our standard response to these questions who's only correct answer should be "check the f*&king manual."

Dear Mr.

Every Diesel Generator comes with INSTALLATION MANUAL/MAINTANANCE MANUAL with WARRANTY CARD.

All the checks are clearly referred there. Pl. spend some time to read the manuals and if manuals are not supplied - please insist to supply the manuals.
