DC Motor Load Computation

09/21/2012 2:37 AM

What is the right method to compute the total load (in amperes) if the motor we use is a DC MOTORS?

Thank you very much and God bless!

The right method to compute the total load (in amperes) of a DC motor is to measure it.

Watts (mechanical) = volts x amps x efficiency. One HP = 746 W.

Compute? Why not just look it up on the motor manufacturer's performance sheet?

You'll need the manufacturers data to find the efficiency so why not read the rest to save any "computing".
