Yes it is!!

Have you searched for an explanation of tidal wave generation?

would the underwater mechanics have to be zinc plated to prohibit sea life from attaching to moving parts, this seems to me to be a good candidate for renewable energy , just as Wind Turbines and Solar fields , but it would most likely be more susceptible to the elements...??

Zn plating won't do. Corrosion resistant steel is required.

And copper or silver plating will be needed to kill/prohibit sea life.

I think there already some working installations. My best guess is that there will be relatively few good locations for this (significant tides, close to the point of power usage, but not a navigation hazard). As with wind turbines, there are likely to be long-term maintenance issues.

Two main approaches for using tidal power (as distinct from wave power): submerged turbines using existing tidal currents, or building a barrage (dam) across an estuary or bay.

For a discussion about the later approach, try reading about the proposed Severn Barrage.

You do realize that asking for a possibility without any other conditionals guarantees a useless answer of "yes".

Possibility... Sort of like infinite improbability?

I used that tactic here.

That is an OLD, OLD concept, if you developed that by yourself, you're just a bit less than a genius, like those who independently invent the same thing, either contemporaily or separated by time.

Best Regards
