You would think he would have figured out the caps lock by now after 3 postings?!

Do a Google search for your answers. The questions that you've been asking are fairly elementary and you can usually find the answers in Wikipedia.com

Please turn off your caps lock. All capital text is considered to be SHOUTING and is very rude.

You have already been given excellent information on concrete reinforcement with fibers in another thread. We can answer your questions here at CR4 with our personal experience and by referring you to sites and publications available outside of this forum. We cannot make you comprehend our answers.

I have personally poured a lot of fiber reinforced concrete, we ordered that way from local concrete company, it's fiberglass that's already mixed in concrete, but besides glass, fibers can be steel, polypropylene, or nylon. Only your local concrete supplier can do it economically.

Not sure if shredded rubber would give you any strength benefit.

Pure rubber I suspect will not reinforce concrete. However, I believe shredded tires with their integral threads in belts and sidewalls will reinforce concrete.

Yes, I did not think about the steel belts. But would shredding the tires then mixing them into concrete be more econimical then mixing fiberglass from insulation??? Fiber reinforced concrete is not that much more expensive when ordered from a concrete supplier.

I have no idea if tire reinforcement will be economical. It will be an added method to dispose used tires and as such it may have hidden benefits. It may also not be as effective as just adding fiberglass as you suggested.

Old tires have a million uses, I am sure putting them into concrete can be one of them. We built a playground with some shredded, 50' x 60' x 16" deep. That was not cheap, all the metal had to be removed from the rubber and the shred had to be smaller than 1/4".
