I've just learned that the University of Colorado receives "nearly a billion dollars annually in federal revenue", according to University of Colorado president Bruce Benson.
50 states, each with more than one university, could add up to real money, if there were two or three hundred institutions of higher learning each getting a billion dollars annually that could add up. Maybe an economics professor can do the math. I'll bet there's a grant out there somewhere for that study. (grants were not mentioned in the article I read)
Am I the only one who finds this odd? That's billions, with a B.
