"The maximum power of a DC motor is produced at the operating point that is defined by operation at half the no-load speed and half the stall torque."

This is the $2 answer....for a $10 answer, please deposit more money in your account.....

The maximum available size is much bigger than you are authorized to work with. Many traction motors found in locomotives are DC motors.

More than you can afford. i.e. the upper end of the range of power ratings of equipment available as 'build to suit', extends beyond the financial limits of any entity or group.

The biggest ones I have seen were used in our large coal mines and were around 3500 - 4000 horsepower but I have heard of far larger ones being used in steel mills.

Something on the order of 10,000+ peak HP.

Telephone the AC motor's manufacturer and ask the question there.

What do you plan to gain by doing this?

The DC motor will cost more than its AC equivalent plus the control system to make it work will cost even more on top of that.

Who was your helper before you came here?

Can you search the internet? If you need help with this, just let us know, and somebody will show you the way.

BTW there is Global Spec, but the link doesn't show here.

Good luck, get going!!!

I found a maximum rating of only 1650kW DC motor ...and hence the question?

I guess you do not realize that often with motors the power unit of a watt is just impractical because of being too small. Convert your power requirement to horse power and look at what you can find.

Now go earn your thesis.

Re: DC motors

The thing is that there isn't a ready market for standard motors of that sort of size off-the-shelf. While they can, of course, be made to any size and shape, the concept of a catalogue is a non-starter as most motor manufacturers will build-to-order having gone through the proper sales-engineering process. No motor manufacturer worth his sales record is going to have a few motors of that size hanging around just to create a catalogue that will answer the questions of a thesis writer!

Potential customers who have a need for a motor of that size will go to several motor manufacturers with a detailed spec and, following a technical and commercial dance, will place an order with one of them. Delivery on that size of motor can be reasonably expected to be a number of months, while the motor is designed, the materials purchased, and its assembly diagrammed into the production lines among hundreds of others.

And it doesn't matter how many times the question is asked, either.

You could Google "2000kW DC motors" and see what comes up....

Then, since you now have AC, you could also Google "2000kW DC drives"....
