Is it possible to improve power factor on the DG bus?

Still some engineers don't like the idea they switch off PFCC when DG comes on line.

Answer is yes.

When you correct the DG PF during DG operation you may have to consider

1.What is the DG design PF? .80 or 1.00?

2.When the DG is operated the max load should match with the design PF and after correcting the PF on the DG when you load the full load amps the gen set might overload and damage the alternator. Proper analysis is required when you are touching the gen side PF to avoid gen set damages.

Dear Friend,

The bus Bar will NOT identify the source whether is Turbo-Set or DG Set or Hydel Set, or Power to the Bus is from Solar system.
