How is Hydraulic PRESSURE [Not Force] Multiplied?

08/20/2013 9:33 AM

Sorry about last week's incomplete question. hydraulic pressure makes hydraulic force possible. There is a difference between force and pressure.

There is. One has to be multiplied by area to make the other. Keep working on it.

You still have an incomplete question.

How is hydraulic pressure multiplied when using a specific device? This device could be the a vacuum assist from a power brake system in a car. This device could be the impeller driven system like a turbo charger. This device could also be a manifold design that requires complex fluid dynamic analysis to explain why localized points have higher pressures. This device could be... Why am I doing your work?

I think you need to dig deeper - or actually, swim deeper:

You want more pressure, start another thread asking us about hydraulic pressure and don't tell us anything about why you are asking. The pressure from us will be multiplied many times.

Hydraulic pressure is increased by mechanical advantage. The flow is reduced, and pressure is raised. A master cylinder moving a larger slave cylinder moving another larger master cylinder will increase the pressure from the final master cylinder.

Read the other thread; some answers are given there.
