Solenoid Valves Learning Material Required

09/04/2013 12:38 AM

Dear All,

Please help me advise any source from where I could get all information (e.g. working & operation, types, construction, selection etc.) about solenoid valves.

Thanks,

There is no such single source; however, you can get useful literature from a number of manufacturers, or from a valve supply house.

You will find some useful information here, especially regarding "normal" operating positions and energization states, which is often a confusing topic with solenoid valves in control systems:

http://www.ibiblio.org/kuphaldt/socratic/sinst/book/liii.pdf

Refer to chapter 10 ("Discrete Control Elements"), section 10.2 ("Solenoid valves").

ASCO's engineering guide covers all the aspects of spec'ing a solenoid valve:

Have you tried a simple internet or Wikipedia search?

When all else fails, always return to the maker's book of instructions. Applies to people as well.
