Island Emerges from the Sea...Is this Atlantis??

09/25/2013 3:55 PM

No, probably not....but still really weird....

"..."It's an oval shaped island which is about 250ft to 300ft (76-91m) in length, and about 60 to 70ft above the water," he said

It has a rough surface, much of which is muddy and some parts are mostly made up of fine- to coarse-grained sand. One part of it is solid rock...."

That's a nice piece of fertile ground you have there....

is the Grand Poo Bah Position still open?

Unless you come across another land mass without a flag......

So what causes something like this to happen? Is it just an upthrust of plate tectonics? Is it due to sliding plates pushing up a ridge?

According to the article there is layers of frozen gas(methane) that thaws in places from the heat of the tectonic movement, causing the upheaval .....there is also gas hissing out from one side of the island that the locals playfully set on fire, danced around for a while then extinguished, with some difficulty....

Could be, they say that the northern hemisphere is still having what they call 'bounce back', (crust rising) from the ice age when the ice retreated.

I'm not in the age group to remember, but I did read somewhere that this occurred 40-50 years ago...then when most of the gas had gone the ground went back lower and then tides washed the rest away. Not sure if this is true and frankly couldn't be bothered to look into further.

This is a small island suddenly emerging from the sea between Pasni and Gawadar in the Baluchistan province of Pakistan. Due to insurgency there it's a no-go area for outsiders. However, Gawadar is handed over to China to carry out development harbor work in that most backward n unruly area. In future, it may not serve Pakistan much but surely it will be a pieve of cake for the Chinese who know what to do with a ''mole hill''.

Where aren't terrorists?? Terrorism is a state of mind only.

Island region is tribal area....Chinese have been delegated rights to develop it into a beautiful harbor city next to Dubai. Don't worry the Chinese know their job well!!

Not that I am into conspiracy theories, well, not all the time, but there has just been the Chinese Moon Festival with maybe associated big changes in tides. And the king of all tides happen in (almost) my backyard.

The king of all Australian tides occurs near the town of Derby in King Sound, in north-west Australia, at the end of March and again at the end of April each year. Derby's tides can reach up to 11.8 m, and are the second biggest tides in the world (the largest, clocked at 15 m, occur in the Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia). At the other end of the scale, the tides of the Mediterranean - the smallest in the world - peak at a weeny 2 to 3cm.

Now I should be able to form some sort of ignobel submission and argue the link between the tides and the land masses that appear here and there.

I've worked it out ... it's not Atlantis, but a trial construction system for the foundations of bridge supports. Now imagine if we could get a series of them aligned across the top of the North Sea, maybe China to Japan, and even Russia to Alaska. Is it time to dump those airline shares and invest in high speed rail?

You might need a place to build the vacuum assist stations for the hyperloop ... so those mounds might still be handy for the undersea links, with wind power turbines to make it all work ... but no growing of grass on the atolls ... otherwise I am sure we'll be back to the ride on mowers running out of fuel again!

reminiscences of the I-35 bridge collapse

09/30/2013 8:59 AM

Don, It quite a coincidence that you mention about bridge support foundations.

Just last week, a major bridge in our city on I43 (Green Bay, WI in the US) one of the foundations suddenly sank about 22".

Bridge was constructed in 1980.

Tower Drive Bridge aka Leo Frigo Bridge

One of the truck drivers drove over it about 4:45 AM and reported that his wheels left the ground.

here's more links with pictures

So do the fine police of Green Bay have a "missing" department or should the stolen goods section be notified of a certain mound that has appeared elsewhere? How connected are we?

The bridge held..... its the but the footings from the pier

Its too soon to tell, the WisDOT (Wisconsin Department of Transportation) is still investigating, should have something end of this week first part of next week. Structurally, it held........ but the whole pier sank. But that's not the worst of it. It has a gas line about 10 feet from this pier that saupplys petrol for Northeast Wisconsin, including Milwaukee. I do not recall the number but I think it was 70,000 gallons/ day????? fixing it will have real adverse effects on the area economy.

This bridge was built on swamp......... to add to the speculation, it could be a sink hole., this happened very quickly. I take that bridge quite often.

They just got done with a multi Million revamp. and it's sister bridges in Green Bay, the Mason Street Bridge just finished a major upgrade (1) year ago. Not to mention the Ray Nietzsche Bridge that was put up about 20 years ago down town replaced an existing bridge, And then the Walnut Street Bridge, That is a recent one......that is another matter...... always had problems..... they would raise it and it would get stuck in the open position....... quite often.

And in DePere (out laying city of Green Bay) just closed down their bridge 6 years ago and put up a new one. That's a nice one.

The finger of fate is pointing towards Israel, who it has been alleged have pinched dirt before. The missing Green Bay foundations may have been on their way to the Med under the code name of "Atlantis" when highlighted by SolarEagle.

And there is further 'evidence' ... a film was being made about "Israel's Atlantis".
It is all as clear as mud ... err Med! Good that Green Bay have their best working on the task.

The I43 Leo Frigo Bridge go over the Fox river......

40 years ago the Fox river always had to be dredged for navigation...... these dredging's had a lot of heavy metal and pcb's from the paper mills.... of course the fox is cleaned up now, but the soil underneath the I43 Tower drive was built on swamp land and may still be contaminated...........

if Israel wants more soil, just remember, there is a "No Return Policy" in effect.
