The pressure is directly proportional to the depth of the measuring point to the surface of the fluid.

What is the fluid?

Do you not require the forces involved?

The shape of the tank doesn't matter.

Water weighs 62.4# per cubic foot.

Really?

If the tank is open to the atmosphere, that will be the pressure.

You don't give any useful information and we don't read minds, especially those that are empty.

kumar....buddy,

You are not making any friends by asking to be spoonfed.

If you want to know the PRESSURE in a tank full of water, look for HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE on the internet. We have this thing called "GOOGLE" that is very helpful

The PRESSURE that exists at the bottom of a tank full of liquid is independent of the tank material...... We don't care if the tank is made of 316SS.

If you are looking to design a tank of the dimensions you describe, well.... you are going to have to master enough of the English language to say exactly that.

Rectangular tanks are not efficient structures because the thin walls are loaded in "bending" and not as a "membrane" like circular tanks.

If you have no idea what this means, use Wikipedia to try to understand "membrane stress" and "bending stress"

Rectangular tanks are possible, but the cost is about double that of similar flat bottomed circular tanks. When the butt-hole client finds this out he usually changes his mind...

Kumar....old buddy.... please complete this thread and let us know how you finally resolve this issue..

I get the impression that kumarB is employed in a job about which he knows nothing.

He also does not follow instructions.

How do they get these jobs? Can I get one ? I would love to be paid for doing a job which does not require real work ( or expertise ) on my part....

Pressure varies with depth, so multiply the depth at which the pressure is needed to be known by the acceleration due to gravity and the density of the liquid in the tank. The answer is a pressure.
