Inovatec 30kVA UPS

11/19/2013 11:38 AM

Hi,

We have connected a UPS (Brand Inovatec, 30kVA) to supply the server room. However, during testing the UPS goes to bypass mode and display message manual bypass is ON or cable is damaged. We inspected the UPS there is no cable damage and the bypass switch OF. What might be the cause of the problem.

Regards

The solutions include getting the original equipment manufacturer to call under product warranty arrangements. Pick up the phone, and stop wasting time on CR4.

Do as PWSlack said. Ask someone who may have dealt with the problem of inept customers before:

The bypass switch may have failed....the cable may have a loose connection.....

Apart from Chinese Alibaba references I got zip tech info when I Googled Inovatec 30kVA UPS

Seems it may be a badged up Chinese OEM generic.

Have you checked the batteries and their connections yet?

It may be installed incorrectly, may even be dangerous to life and limb.....

If the machine is correctly programmed and is not manually selected to "bypass" mode and if the power side wiring is correct:

Check the input circuit breaker position feedback contacts and the power source selection switch position feedback contacts.

If the feedback wiring is connected to the wrong contacts (N.O. vs N.C) the machine will "think" it is in "bypass" mode when actually in the "online" mode.
