Voltage Appearance vs Power Actually Use Stability

01/05/2014 3:05 PM

http://www.usegreenenergysources.com/products.html

For over 15 years it has been seen and heard of, but usually with smaller commercial to residential testimony; but what of real trade offs somewheres else that are not very evident which should be considered when implementing "powerhouse" devices and the like

Snake Oil!

I have the UK rights, LynDor the US.

If you pay for KWHr and not KVAHr what will it save?

JP,

From your link, "...All electrical energy coming into a facility is known as Apparent Power, and the power we actually use is defined as Real Power. Even though you pay for it, a portion of the power entering your electrical system is lost to ground and never consumed. This is referred to as Reactive Power...", this is also referred to as a big lie.

In the US no residential rate and most commercial rates do NOT charge individual consumers for Reactive Power, no one pays for it directly, the utility rolls it into their rate case as system losses. Of course if your individual wants to help the entire rate base then the utility gives you a hearty handshake, but your individual bill never sees any difference in kWhrs consumed.

Sorry, as others have and will say, the only person who benefits from the sale of this product is the manufacturer and the sales outlet.

By the way- this product does not contribute in any way to stability.

The fact that the "how it works" page states: "This enables the unit to capture the Reactive Power, commonly lost to ground..." shows a lack of understanding for the basics of circuits. The magic sink-drain of ground. Never saw PF correction described in such idiotic fashion.

The wizard standing next to the miracle box in the picture must surely be a Master Electrician of inordinate magnitude. Tim Sorbenhorst is the sales director according to the page. Is that the sales director in the photo?

How do these things meet code?

Snake oil, indeed!

Is there a question in your post?

Looking at the web site you reference, (how it works page) the manufacturer makes a whole host of claims:

Balances voltage across all phases (legs)

Balances the load and line harmonics between phases

Reduces Reactive Power loss

Reduces spikes in your energy demand, lowering your peak demand charges

Reduces device vibration, noise and HEAT (motors are more efficient & run cooler)

Provides surge protection (absorbing power spikes up to 50,000 volts)

Increases lumens (amount of brightness) in your existing lighting system

Lowers lighting maintenance costs by extending the life of bulbs and ballasts

Requires no special cooling or air conditioned environment Helps protect computers, operating systems, timers, relays, burglar alarms, surveillance cameras and other low voltage equipment that is sensitive to power spikes or low voltage

Looking at your credentials, have you tested any of these claims? Most would be easy to do at least a quick rudimentary test to confirm ... I.e., volt meter, power quality meter, flicker meter, thermal imager, light meter ... I will be anxiously awaiting your results.

Agree with above - don't waste your money. If you need some power factor correction/surge protection (e.g. industrial/factory use etc.) then your usual local electrical engineer will be better able to advise. Your installation is checked regularly isn't it?

Related:- if you ever see a proper data sheet on a device like this and it mentions special ceramic busbars, infra red heat or similar then you know you are in a fairy tale.

(In the UK one company pushing this sort of thing was "Blue Carbon" a couple of years ago, now defunct).

From this thread's incoherent title alone, one can see it is gibberish. (As usual for this poster.)

I have wasted so much time arguing with the spammers about this scam that I am getting writer's cramps. In my opinion, the scam artists often find people to post "questions" in various forums like this in order to increase traffic to their websites, then they use the traffic data they collect to scam investors out of money and/or to lure in "dealers" who are scammed into buying "demo kits" and inventory for exorbitant amounts of money. Please do not go to any of these websites, even to "check it out". It's part of their scam.

It's all a scam, it's based on lies, but they bury the lies in mountains of superfluous real data that may be real, but has no relevance to the claims they make. This is a well known "grifter's" tactic: hide the scam in something the victim knows is true, they will accept the whole thing as truth. Watch "The Sting" again, they depict it well.
