Safety Valve ASME UV-1 Form

02/19/2014 1:07 AM

If the purchase order of the safety valve stated that the valve shall be ASME approved and stamped UV, and the valve manufacturer refuses to submit the UV-1 form

(FORM UV-1 MANUFACTURER'S OR ASSEMBLER'S CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMANCE FOR PRESSURE RELIEF VALVES)

(CERTIFICATE OF SHOP COMPLIANCE)

As Required by the Provisions of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Rules, Section VIII, Division 1))

In this case, does the purchaser have the right to rejects this valve?

the valve manufacturer reply (the valve nameplate stamped by UV and this is enough, the UV-1 form is internal form and does not received to the purchaser)

That snippet doesn't alter #1 above. The time has come to pick up the phone to the supplier and refuse to pay the invoice until the requested documentation is to hand. Make sure the supplier knows the purchaser's fax number during the discussion. If necessary, escalate the problem to the supplier's Managing Director; ask the right person to get the right answer.

I believe the supplier also has the right to have the part returned to them for a failure to pay. Who has which commerce rights is the domain of your local laws. An international forum can quickly give you false expectations. Please consult with your lawyers.

...in which case the non-documented valve could be shipped back to the supplier straight away. It's time to pick up the telephone to get this issue sorted!

Dear Mr.Talaat Haggag,

Yes. If it violates the statutory Requirement. The purchaser has every right and can reject.

It is always better - during commercially clear order issuing stage, these points should have been discussed during Technical Discussions. Did the Supplier issue ORDER ACCEPTANCE LETTER. This is a MUST.
