Can anyone explain whether a 150AH,850VA homeups puresinewave inverter runs a mini room aircooler??

Yes, but no one knows for how long.

Really, think about forming a rational question.

What is the input voltage to the inverter?

But see that you don't keep the inverter and the battery out of the room.

Errata

See that you keep the inverter...

This would depend on your definition of "mini".

Define the load. Design your supply to meet the demand.

Yes, but only for 34 minutes. Smallest window a/c units are rated at 5,000 Btu. Quick math says: At 1 watt = to 3.4 Btu you need 1,470 watt/hour to run it at full blast (based on the unattainable 100% efficiency). Your batteries are rated at 850va so 1,470watts (1va = 1watt) is the power needed to run for 1 hour. Therefore (850va/1,480 watts) *1 hour = 0.57 hours * 60min/hr = 34 minutes of run time.

Reducing the temperature setting will lengthen the available minutes or operation. This will require only running the fan all the time and the compressor part of the time.

Better results could be calculated if more information was given. This is only a very presumptive crude calculation, not suitable for any opposing opinions.

Good Luck, Old Salt

There are several errors of units in that post.

Which Ones? Help me if they are not extremely long to explain. I only made crude calculations as approximations such as va = watts, etc.

1. A/C units can be rated in Btu/h, but not simply Btu.
2. ! watt ≈ 3.41 Btu/h, but that is for heat-supplied conversions. A/C units move more heat than they consume, by factors of around 2.5 to 4, depending on pressure/temperature conditions.
3. Reducing the temperature setting requires the unit to run more, not less.
4. Energy ratings of batteries depend on amp-hours times voltage, which was not given.
5. There is no such meaningful unit as watt/hour; it is watt-hours.

The reducing the temperature is a local usage. It really means to reduce the time that the compressor runs which would properly be termed "raise the temperature setting".

Around here some A/C guys are not the brightest in the box. No offense intended to the others.

Errors caused by mind not being engaged enough, a calculator which had been exposed to fine carbon powder (it kills them every time) and too late in the evening. After reading youre not the mind kicked in gear and realized I put down what wasn't in my mind and my intentions. Sorry!
