Motor Automatically Started While Putting Test To Service Position

Dear All,

This is ACB Breaker control motor which got started automatically while putting breaker in test to service position

Please suggest troubleshooting

Breaker has only DCS stop command

LCS provided with T-N-C switch (without locking arrangement in trip position)

Disconnect from motor; trouble shoot; repair faults; reconnect to motor; test again.

...preferably one who can redesign, install and commission the starter to the desired, safe, operating condition!

ACBs will have motor mechanism to charge the closing spring. ACBs will close when the charge is released from the spring, this is done by closing coil. When the charge is released from the spring, the motor will act and the charge the spring and the ACB will be ready for next closing cycle. The charging the spring can be done manually also. May be in your case , spring is in discharged condition and when you put it on to service position the motor is acting to charge the spring. Please check
