Removing you from the forum would remove an even bigger problem.

Is that the one with a stationary brush and a paint-shaker type device that shakes your head violently?

In Germany, Stiftung warentest have done tests that demontrate that the power toothbrushes are not as good as a good "normal" brush.....

I have a copy, if you can read German, let me send you one....

Yes, but that test actually makes the users brush - the big advantage for the power tooth brush, for us lazy Yankees, is it does the work for us. That makes it a better choice on this side of the Atlantic. (I admit to being lazy too - I run the power brush much longer than I would ever manually brush)

Then I am lazy too, I have had them for ears, sometime in the 80s - 90s I believe. I bought 4 in the USA as a start, no exact idea when though.....

All I was saying is that according to the test process used, they are apparently not as good as "proper" brushing.....not my personal take though!!

Check this out - opposite results. Of course, a company which sells toothbrushes, both manual and electric was involved, and since the electric are most likely more profitable, one could consider the results a bit prejudiced.

You had me wondering why anyone would use a power toothbrush on their ears. I hope that should have been "years".

I'm 63 years young. Several years ago, I had some major dental problems, especially with my gums. My dentist suggest, and I purchased an electric toothbrush. Around 135.00. Now, 10 years later, my gums are the strongest my dentist has ever seen. At my age, he cares little about my teeth and much more about my gums. Proven!!!! Teeth are easy, gums are not. By the way, my teeth are in excellent condition also.

Not smoking, and flossing is very healthy as well as brushing. Powered or not, brushing helps.

I been doing a lot of traveling, and I purchased a cheap smaller toothbrush (because it was compact) looked like a kids brush, Brush itself was about 3/8" x 1/2" long. Takes me longer to brush, but I believe I get better results, I have to buy a replacement, but It has no name on it.
