wonder if where I can find data for augers ... torque, speed and flow ... per foot .. for various sizes augers

The phrase "per foot" is meaningless. Correct units must be sorted out before proceeding.

First off, there is a huge wealth of information available in our sponsor IHS- just click on HOME. Secondly, please provide as much info on a topic as possible. From your post it's hard to tell if you are looking for info on boring augers (hydraulic flow) or transfer and feeding devices (material flow), which would also require angle data.

Thx Actually found lots of information from your suggestions. I'm building a 30' auger similar to the one shown here= http://www.peckmfgonline.com/80hyd.htm . I already have most of the material scraped together from previous projects made in my farm shop for use on my farm. Think my tractor might have enough hydraulic flow to power the hydraulic motor (top drive) to pull grain through a 6''x30' auger at around 30* incline. What I'm having to figure out is motor sizing and flow rate to get the job done near full auger capacity. I will come back here often to see if I can get opinions on my progress. This was my first post here and I like what I see so far. Thx,Steve

Do you have some estimates of how many pounds per hour you need to lift, and the helical pitch of the screw? Is the motor attached directly to the conveyor shaft, or is there a speed reduction? How about the PTO output specs in gpm and pressure, and the cubic inches per revolution of the hydraulic motor?

Keep a close watch on the heat on your hydraulics. At times the hydraulic reservoir on some tractors isn't large enough to dissipate the heat fast enough.
