01/28/2015 3:59 AM

Hi, I need some information regarding a slamshut valve that can protect a nitrogen line from liquid carry over. Full mechanical valve that will slam shut when the temperture drops below a set point.

Offhand, I would suggest Jordan Valve, or maybe Cash-Acme, for mechanically actuated valves responding to temperature. (I have no connection with these suppliers. But if they can't help, maybe they can have further suggestions.)

Please be aware of issues such as liquid hammer with quick-closing valves.

A telephone call to the local valves distributor is all it takes.

Have you considered the possibility of a fluid that is liquid when nitrogen gas is bubbling through it, but which becomes completely solid when liquid nitrogen is in contact? Just sayin...although perhaps another way would be to have a nitrogen gas ballast tank in series, such that any liquid nitrogen would be trapped there (a Dewar tank), and it would provide additional vapor as the flowing gas warms it up.
