Video: Brush Research and the Flex-Hone Tool

Posted April 13, 2010 9:00 AM by BrushResearch

This video explains how the Flex-HoneĀ® tool from Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM) is used in a variety of industrial and commercial metal surface-finishing and deburring applications. Since its introduction in 1972, the company's signature product has been used for surface finishing, deburring, and edge blending applications in the automotive, agricultural, manufacturing, defense, and transportation industries. BRM's capabilities include a popular line of standard products, as well as an in-house design team that can create custom tools.

Today, the Flex-Hone is used with engine cylinders, piston cylinders, brake rotors and brake cylinders; hydraulic motor drives, hydraulic valves, and hydraulic cylinders; farm equipment; jet engines, aircraft military systems, and marine motors; and even lawn maintenance products, firearms, and brass musical instruments. As this video explains, the success of the Flex-Hone is a function of its construction, chemistry, and performance. For users, benefits include increased bearing area, reduced oil consumption, improved sealing surfaces, and reduced friction.

The dingle-ball hone is indeed a great invention, but this is more of an ad than a blog. It would probably fit better in the commercial section.

I agree with this being mor of an ad than a blog but for those that have nefer used a ball-flex hone in is informative.

Having used these hone myself for years, I wouldn't use any other type. Not plugging the product here just stating facts.

I love these little things and thank the inventor fot them.
